Mei Yachiyo (八千代 命, Yachiyo Mei), codename Chiyome (千代女), is the tetartagonist of the Release the Spyce anime and Release the Spyce: Golden Genesis light novel gaiden series.
Appearance[]
Mei has caramel-orange hair that is tied into a side ponytail, purplish-brown eyes (indicating mauve) that turns magenta when in Spyce mode and an average height.
She is mostly seen wearing her school uniform.
Personality[]
Mei is shown to be the most enthusiastic and positive member out of the Tsukikage Spies where she is cheerful, self-assured, easygoing and friendly, although she can be quite absent-minded and forgetful at times. Due to her cheery attitude, she is shown to be unfazed by enemies in missions, always facing them with a confident smile. Her ongoing confidence is what molds her strong faith in her teammates, knowing that Tsukikage will always pull through tough situations, one way or another.
Despite being somewhat of a freeloader, Mei is relatively mature, always looking out for her teammates, especially her student Fū Sagami.
When revealed to be the supposed traitor, she keeps her easygoing and optimistic attitude, though it leans more on the psychopathic and sadistic vicious side. However, this psychopathic side of hers was shown to somewhat be an act.

- Her codename Chiyome means "thousand" (千) (chi), "generation" (代) (yo) and "woman, daughter" (女) (me).
- Mei's surname Yachiyo means "eight" (八) (ya), "thousand" (千) (chi) and "generation" (代) (yo).
